MANNLICHEN, the most experienced in the field, had been bogged down in heavy ground on his previous start but returned to his best to get off the mark at the fifth attempt on this all-weather debut. He had the rail to help but showed a good attitude and he may be capable of further progress in handicaps as he strengthens up.
Barwell Bridge had shown ability in a race that threw up numerous winners in May and, although not seen since, was well supported over this longer trip for this all-weather debut. He showed improved form, despite running green, to pull clear of the rest and is sure to win a similar event.
Eastern Warrior, who attracted support, probably ran to a similar level as on his debut at Newbury. He's the sort to improve in handicaps, a comment that also applies to Caravan Of Dreams, who was not disgraced on this all-weather debut.
Sky Gate is also qualified for a mark and may do better, something that is certainly the case for Free Falling, who was not knocked about on this all-weather debut and first run for three months.
