Lyceana chased leader until led over 2f out, clear and ridden over 1f out, in no danger after, eased well inside final furlong
Ibbetson in touch, headway to chase clear winner well over 1f out, no impression, kept on
Roleplay towards rear, headway over 2f out, ridden and effort on inner over 1f out, went modest 3rd over 1f out, never near leading pair
Bullet Man in touch until ridden and outpaced over 3f out, some headway over 1f out, plugged on final furlong, no chance with leaders
Fosool fly-jumped start and very slowly away, rapid headway to chase leaders over 6f out, ridden and short of room briefly just over 2f out, soon weakened
Celtic Gold slowly into stride, behind, lost touch 3f out, kept on past beaten horses final furlong, never dangerous
Kipchak led to start, took keen hold, held up in rear, never a factor
Gun For Sale held up in last trio, ridden and struggling 3f out, never troubled leaders
Rumline led until over 2f out, weakened quickly well over 1f out
Ashton Heights in touch on outer, ridden and weakened quickly 3f out, tailed off final furlong
LYCEANA, who had shown ability up to 1m2f on turf, took full advantage of the below-par showings of both market leaders and won with plenty in hand. She looks a galloper who should not be inconvenienced by the return to further and is likely to progress again in handicaps.
Ordinary handicaps will be the way forward with Ibbetson, who was far from disgraced dropping back in trip for this all-weather debut. The return to 1m2f will be more to his liking and he looks capable of picking up a run-of-the-mill event.
Bullet Man, who had shown ability in races that had thrown up winners last year, attracted plenty of support but was disappointing on this belated reappearance over this longer trip. He is now qualified for a mark but may not be one to take too short a price about.
Fosool, having her first start since April and her first run for a new yard, was also well backed but, although quickly recovering from a slow start, she dropped out very tamely. She will have to show a fair bit more before she is worth a bet.
